This article looks at Chilean growth, in particular the rapid expansion that began in the mid-80’s while the economy was recovering from the 1982 crisis, which then moderated at the end of the 90’s. The evidence on growth and activity is also analyzed and broken down to review the strengths and weaknesses after Chile’s economic take-off and the elements supporting future growth. Lastly, estimates are provided on the potential long-term growth rate in the Chilean economy.
