This essay evaluates the conclusions taken from the "Study by the Board of Chancellors of the Predictive Validity of Factors of Selection for Entrance to Universities" (Technical Advisory Committee, 2006). It is concluded that contrary to what the press says, this study cannot be said to provide "overwhelming" evidence to refute the doubts about the PSU tests (the new college admission tests that have replaced the former PAA). Moreover, in light of its limitations, it cannot be concluded that the PSU tests have a greater capacity to predict the future performance in college, nor have they met the expectations of helping applicants from lower income sectors enter college. This article presents some of the problems and limitations of the study made by the Technical Advisory Committee of the Board of Chancellors.
