Captured by the DINA in December 1974, Cristian Mallol was kept a political prisoner for nearly two years in different prisons of the military regime in Chile. This article contains his reflections on the dehumanization of victims and victimizers, the hardships in overcoming the trauma caused by devastating experiences, and on how to avoid in the future such a savage, hell-bent deviated way of solving political problems.
